THE CUSTOMER'S CHALLENGE

In the hugely complex UK telephony market, Domino were keen to understand both the extent and cost of their current telephony estate, and how competitive their existing fixed voice and mobile deals were in comparison to what was available from other suppliers. Domino engaged The Network Collective to help them in the following ways:

  • To gain a clearer picture of the market
  • To undertake a complete evaluation and baselining of Domino's current estate
  • To analyse Domino's billing and check for discrepancies
  • To determine whether significant savings could be achieved by migrating to a different service provider or providers

THE NETWORK COLLECTIVE APPROACH

The Network Collective began by undertaking a complete appraisal of Domino's fixed voice and mobile estate, establishing exactly where and how costs were incurred and analysing all the billing. By this process alone we were able to realise a significant saving on video conferencing calls for Domino, by identifying a billing irregularity which had previously gone unnoticed.

As a result of this baselining activity The Network Collective were able to advise Domino that considerable cost reductions could be achieved by going to tender for their mobile estate. The Network Collective managed this tender with three vendors, working closely with Domino to ensure that the best commercial, technical and operational solution was reached. The Network Collective also built a commercial model which allowed Domino to analyse corporate tariff versus bundle options, bringing vital clarity to the complex range of commercial options put forward by the suppliers.

The tender process ultimately resulted in Domino migrating their mobile estate from Vodafone to Orange. By running the procurement process and handling the contract negotiation, The Network Collective helped Domino realise a 30% reduction in monthly billing charges. As well as this saving The Network Collective also secured a substantial additional amount of account credit for Domino, half of which was used to provide a new mobile handset or Blackberry to every UK user.
