Job Title: Technical Consultant

Reports to: Head of Consulting

Description: Provide technical subject matter expertise, advisory and consulting services to our enterprise customers covering a broad range of network and telecoms products and services

Technical Consultancy

  • Provide deep market experience and expertise across a broad range of network and telecoms products and services (SD-WAN, SASE, UCaaS, CCaaS, LAN/WiFi, Mobility)
  • Support the design and development of complex network and telecoms architectures, with and on behalf of our customers
  • Capture, develop and analyse customer requirements for a broad range of network and telecoms products and services
  • Review and validate customer developed strategies to identify market alignment and opportunities for improvement
  • Deliver TNC’s strategy development and strategic procurement frameworks in line with agreed Company and Customer expectations
  • Contribute to multiple strategy development and procurement projects simultaneously
  • Provide other TNC consultants with technical, service, and operational expertise to assist them in developing strategies, complete procurement processes etc.
  • Demonstrate a broad range of market aligned technical knowledge, operational experience, and advisory skills to a variety of customer personnel
  • Support the Head of Professional Services develop and optimise the products delivered by the PS consulting team 

General Project Management

  • Provide regular and fully detailed information via the company’s designated software system for your project progress
  • Demonstrate a broad range of commercial, procedural and process, inter-personal, negotiation and advisory skills to a variety of customer personnel
  • Attend project management review sessions with Account Directors and Consultants
  • Manage a range of projects and project types across the full range of TNC’s services, across a number of customers simultaneously
  • Manage the timetables and project plans for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Produce work that is accurate and thorough
  • Take initiative and be reliable in completing tasks on time

Customer Liaison

  • Produce high quality customer-facing documentation at relevant periods during projects
  • Manage customer expectations throughout each engagement
  • Manage any pre-agreed project governance processes

Vendor Liaison

  • Manage third party vendor relationships in a professional and responsible manner upholding high ethical standards
  • Build and maintain technical peer relationships with keep market vendors to keep abreast of current technical trends

Person Specification: Technical Consultant 

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge of a range of network and telecoms products and services
  • Experience in applying a wide range of technologies to solve the needs of complex commercial customers
  • Experience of designing and developing a range of complex network and telecoms architectures
  • Experience of delivering technical strategies and procurement frameworks
  • Experience in communicating with key stakeholders across a business
  • Experience of managing timetables and project plans for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience of managing customer expectations and building relationships with customers and vendors

Desirable:

  • Wider enterprise architectures and cloud computing
  • Deep knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, Cloud connectivity, LAN & WiFi, network services, fixed voice & IPT, mobile, UCaaS and CCaaS
  • Knowledge of latest technology trends, advantages and disadvantages, impact, cost, availability, and suitability

  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, with senior contacts
